Malta

Malta is one of the most romantic and charming of all Mediterranean destinations, with a warm year-round sunshine, friendly locals, and a wealth of historic and cultural sightseeing opportunities. Malta enjoys close ties with Britain and Europe. English and Italian are widely spoken throughout the islands, they drive on the left and even pubs resemble English and Continental pubs.

Nevertheless, the pace of life in Malta can only be described as Mediterranean, making it perfect for those seeking a relaxing holiday and / or romantic honeymoon - although taking time out to explore the many attractions of the islands would also be a rewarding experience.

Malta is the largest island in the archipelago.  The longest distance on the island, from the south-east to the north-west is some 27kms; its widest point, east to west, is 14.5kms.  Malta has neither rivers nor mountains, but is characterised by a series of low, flat-topped hills with terraced fields on their slopes.  Malta’s coastline is well indented with harbours, bays, creeks, several sandy beaches and rocky coves.
